Art Residency- Plants that have been produced
2021
Collect local plants to make watercolor paint
Title of Work: Plants that have been produced
Concept of the work: Collectors are also producers of plants. Through the knowledge system formed by collection, the naming, use and consumption of plants are repeatedly practiced in daily life.
Recreate the collection scene—
Humans and plants are independent in space. Plants (Solanum sutchuenensis, Fumu, Lintou, Onion, Hibiscus sibiricum, Casuarina, Bamboo, Coconut, Plantain, Banana) have substantial appearances and dialogue with the collectors. The depiction of human gathering postures is not a certain point in time, but a daily behavior that is gathered from fragments of different gathering times.
By exchanging the subject (human/plant) and the object (plant/human), we rethink the relationship between humans and plants.
Here, the light resistance and fastness of plant pigments are also being tested during the exhibition.
